Automatic fire control using zigbee protocol

The firefighting is a risky work where the firefighters need to face the fire hazards to save lives and properties. Different equipments such as fire extinguisher, axes, and cutting equipment are used to fight against fire. The firefighting vehicle is being used to transport firefighters to the scene as well as transport the fire fighting equipments. The firefighter is still facing the risk of fire hazard because they still need to go near to fire scene. To reduce the firefighter risk during fire incident, a firefighting mobile robot is designed. Firefighting mobile robot is a remote-controlled machine that replaces firefighter to perform firefighting task. The application of firefighting mobile robot is able to reduce the direct contact with the firefighter to the fire hazards. The paper reviews a variety of technologies and state-of-the-art technology of firefighting mobile robot. The paper also describes the first Malaysian designed and built firefighting mobile robot, namely, MyBOT2000.

Smart inventory storage system

In most of the industries, material handling and storage is done by industrial stackers. So industries have to pay for rack manufacturing and purchasing of stacker or turret. This goes costlier and more space, effort consuming. Many of the small-scale industries can’t even afford it. The paper will describe one model called Smart Inventory Storage System (SISS) for material handling and storage which will save cost, effort, and space of the industry. After analyzing the successful operation of the small prototype of SISS, it is predicted that it will be a good solution to many of the small-scale industries for material handling and storage.

Review on wetlands and mosquitoes

The expansion of existing wetlands, their creation from arable land, and the creation of new salt marsh. India has a wealth of wetland of ecosystems that support diverse and unique habitats, this wetlands provide numerous ecological goods and services but are under tremendous stress due to rapid urbanization, industrialization and agricultural intensification, manifested by the shrinkage in their areal extent decline in the hydrological, economic and ecological functions, they perform, this paper illustrates the role of fresh water wetlands (e.g. lakes, pond, riverine, streams & wet prairies, fens,) Marine wetlands, (an estuary, mangrove swamps, bogs, coral reefs,) common wetlands, are being considered beneficial for good and habitat for wildlife, water quality improvement, constructed wetland, systems (CWS) for wastewater treatment have been proven to be effective, low cost and sustainable alternative for conventional wastewater treatment technologies the CWS generally fall under two categories: subsurface flow system and free water system subsurface flow system are designed to create subsurface flow through a permeable medium. Both types of wetlands treatment system typically constructed in basins or channels with a natural or constructed subsurface barrier to limit seepage the paper reviews the different types of wetlands and different types of constructed wetlands by modification of wetlands.

An experimental study on the strength properties of concrete using waste glass and GGBS

The usage of waste materials from the industries has been continuously emphasized within the research work. There is a developing interest in the usage of recycled glass (RG) and ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) as an aggregate creation material specifically for non-structural packages. Although the recycled glass is capable of reducing the water absorption and drying shrinkage in concrete products because of its close to zero water absorption characteristics, the potential adverse effect of the use of glass because of alkali-silica reaction (ASR) in cementitious materials is a real issue. GGBS is such waste which is the by-product of the iron production industries, whose use and production has increased in many years. GGBS can be used in experimental work as opportunity binder and filler materials for Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) and River Sand respectively in concrete due to their pozzolanic behaviour. In this experiment, cement is substituted by GGBS at 50%, 60% and 70% and sand with glass powder at 20% in numerous percentages. Mechanical strength were calculated at 7, 28 and 56 days of M20 grade concrete. The mechanical strength in the study is increasing at 7th days for all replacement levels of GGBS and sand but, later on, strength was only increasing at 50% and 60% GGBS and 20% sand in 28th and 56th days in comparison to control mix. The maximum mechanical strength is achieved when 60% cement is substituted by GGBS and 20% sand is substituted with glass powder. The mechanical strength starts reducing at 70% GGBS and 20% sand. 100-micrometer glass size is good for achieving the strength. GGBS and glasses are the waste merchandise. Therefore, the disposal problem of stuff is solved aspect by way of aspect the saving of cement and sand will be done. There will be environmental and the economic benefits from the utilize of recycled waste glasses and GGBS to concrete production. 3R ’s, (Reuse, Recycle, Reduce) are going to be useful in reducing environmental and health hazards.

Adaptive replication in HDFS based on prediction techniques

HDFS provides high availability and reliableness. Characteristics of parallel operations on the application layer, Access rate is completely different for every file in HDFS. HDFS uses cloud storage to implement the functionality. By considering the assorted drawbacks of replication system of HDFS, this paper implements an approach to flexibly replicate the data files. Predictive analysis is used for setting the replication factor. The frequent access files are often replicated consistently with their access potential. Therefore, our approach concurrently improves the performance of HDFS and maintains high accessibility of data files.

Application of digital watermarking in piracy

In today’s world where piracy has surfaced itself as one of the biggest problems, it becomes important to protect the originality to prevent huge revenue losses, to safeguard digital rights and protect information. This paper presents the application of digital watermarking for authorization against copying or piracy. E-Banking is the method of banking in which the customer conducts transactions electronically via the internet which causes the problem of phishing. The remedy to avoid phishing is to use different anti-piracy techniques. The technique that we are using is digital watermarking. The watermark is inserted by means of a security key. On reception, only the authorized person with a valid security key can extract the watermark thus verifying the integrity and authenticity of the image.
