Sensitivity analysis of water footprint in paddy

Water is an incredibly important aspect of our daily lives. Water footprint assessment is a fast-growing field of research, but as yet little attention has been paid to the uncertainties involved. The study investigates the sensitivity analysis of water footprint conducted in Samrakalwana village near Allahabad, UP, India. Water footprint was calculated for the Paddy crop and factors that influence the water footprint are identified. Sensitivity analysis was done for the parameters influencing water footprint with the One-at-a-time method (OAT), for parameters like reference evapotranspiration (ET0), Crop Coefficients (Kc), Precipitation (PR), Crop planting date, Field capacity of soil moisture (Smax), and Yield(Y). The results show that the water footprint of Paddy is 3384.701l/kg. The parameters like ETo, Kc, PR, and Smax are changed within the range of ±90%, and Crop Planting Date changes within the range of ±30%, and yield is changed within the range of ±50%. The water footprint is most sensitive in ET0, Kc, PR followed by yield. Sensitivity Index Parameters have calculated and for increasing the yield of the Paddy crop certain recommendations have been explained.

Effects of chalk dust on teacher

The aim of the study is the effect of chalk dust on Teachers Health. Atmospheric pollutants like dust particles, poisonous gases cause air pollution and it affects adversely human health and creates irritation to the nose and throat, an annoyance to human eyes. Also creates other ill effects like headache, allergies, nausea, and similar effects. Chalkdust particles are one of the major problems in schools and colleges. at the time of teaching some chalk, dust particles enter into our body through inhalation process and suffer from diseases like asthma, burning eyes, conjunctivitis, and allergic respiratory or nasal diseases. Control Group ¬–Healthy Controls -100 subjects. Normal healthy age-matched males and females subject(not exposed to any occupational dust) male and female teachers-100 were considered as the subject of this study (exposed to chalk dust particles with work experience 5-30 years) Information was collected by visiting the each teacher. The study subject was interviewed and a questionnaire was filled for each subject, which included details about their age, educational qualification, and health problems such as nausea, headache, irritation, and dryness of throat, weakness, sneezing faced by them. The present study indicates that Teachers faces numerous health problems due to direct inhalation of chalk dust such as asthma, burning eyes conjunctivitis, and allergic respiratory or nasal diseases

Detection and prevention of phishing websites using web crawlers

ABSTRACT-Phishing attack is the simplest way to obtain sensitivity information from innocent users. The aim of the phishers is to acquire critical data like user name, password and bank account details. The proposed system mainly focuses on detecting and preventing the phishing websites. A Web crawler is used to detect the websites. Detected phishing sites are added to the black list. The black list contains only fake websites. Web Crawling focuses on obtaining the links of the web page. Usually, a phishing website can be easily identified by its URL by its HTML code. Here the check website page makes users to be aware of phishing website and avoid users to become victim of such attacks. This software is very helpful for users to identify and prevent the phishing websites. For this purpose, we are developing a phishing website detection system.

A conceptual framework for an integrated short-term course on health communication skills (HCS) in the undergraduate nursing programme.

This article describes and discusses the conceptual framework developed to emphasize the need for a short-term course on Health communication skills(HSC) for the undergraduate nursing program. The study has adopted mixed methods both qualitative and quantitative approach to critically analyze the factors that influence ineffective communication skills among nurses and the implementation of a health communications skills training hence the conceptual framework depicts both the qualitative conceptual model and Lewin’s theory (adopted ) for quantitative approach. The qualitative conceptual theory describes the factors contributing to ineffective communication and the consequences of it while they need to implement an HSC course as described in Lewin’s conceptual model. The limitations of the current nursing curriculum in India on health communication skills are elaborated and the demand for an HSC course is recommended.

Extraction of flood hydrographs for a hilly terrain region using open source spatial data and meteorological parameters using hydrological modeling – A case study with HEC-HMS

To estimate the Rainfall-Runoff process popularly used watershed model is Hydrologic Engineering Centers–Hydrologic Modeling System (HEC-HMS), which is generally used to estimate the basin's hydrological phenomenon caused due to precipitation. It helps to predict the various hydrologic responses to watershed management and to have the best understanding of the effect of these practices. It is specific from the spacious study of the literature that the studies on relative assessment for hydrologic simulations are finite in developing countries including India. This case study dealt with hydrological modeling software of HEC-HMS is used to simulate the Rainfall-Runoff process to derive hydrograph at the outlet of 'Karcham' catchment, Himachal Pradesh, India. In this study, the SCS curve number method is applied to determine the loss model as a major component in Rainfall-Runoff modeling. To enumerate runoff volume, peak runoff rate, and flow routing methods SCS-Curve Number, SCS-Unit Hydrograph, and Muskingum routing methods are chosen respectively. The simulated peak flood hydrograph obtained with open source spatial and meteorological data at the outlet of 'karcham' watershed was 5663.6 m3/s. The predicted discharge is lesser than 1.4% of the simulated discharge. The results of the present study indicate that HEC-HMS is a tool applied to derive flood hydrographs with open source spatial and non-spatial data in absence of virtual data to achieve the various objectives.
