Improving the performance of patch antenna using microwave frequency bands

The microstrip patch antennas have limited gain and bandwidth performance. In this paper, an enhancement in the gain, bandwidth, VSWR, return loss and directivity this will make antenna more compact and low profile and this parameter is achieved by slotting an ECE radiating patch and using a defected ground structure and by using proximity feeding and also by techonicCER-10 substrate respectively. The proposed antenna design with a design frequency of 2.45 GHz, (4 to 8)GHz, (8-12)GHz, (26-40)GHz has been evolved isometrically in different designs stages (design iterations). The work of single-band antenna with a slotted patch geometry offering an improved gain but limited in its bandwidth. The change in the widths of the ground, substrate, and the patch along with the addition of slots into this design results in a completely different geometry featuring multi-band operation with an improved parameter performance and the use of defected ground structure in the final stage counters the limited bandwidth operability. All the involved iteration designs have been simulated over CST 2019 for the performance parameters of the reflection coefficient, bandwidth, radiation pattern and gain, VSWR, return loss. The measured results have been found to be in close approximation to the simulated ones.

Intelligent healthcare and monitoring system using Internet of Things for railway passengers

Among different modes of transportation, railway transportation offers reduced travel time, dependability, and excellent energy conservation. Invariably, this mode of transportation plays a vital role not only in the transportation of goods and commodities but also helps in the passenger itinerary. Many technological developments have ascended in the field of railways but healthcare is a major concern. Internet of Things(IoT) is a revolutionary technology that is being widely used to integrate advanced medical resources thereby offering effective health care services to human beings in an effortless way. In this project, we are proposing a controller-based technique to give first aid support in case of emergency, to the patients who are in immediate requirement of medical assistance. The abnormality is detected with the help of wearable sensors. Once the abnormality is detected, the first aid system is triggered by life. The information is transferred to the loco pilot who is in charge of operating the train and the nearest station. Thus, with the help of this system, we will be able to save the life of patients in case of an emergency during transit.

Robot control through voice recognition using LabVIEW

As of today our goal in technology is to bring the human effort to a minimum. In the digital world, it would be cool to make a robot that obeys human speech commands and perform tasks. It will be very much fun if we can control robot with our speech. There are movies like an iron man where he makes himself a totally different network for himself which is overrated. Let’s not go there and stick with what we can do. Actually, the idea of making this came from a movie called I robot, here the people uses robots for the help just by giving commands. The reason we chose voice was there are robots that work on gestures and line robots. But the voice control we used overcomes the flaws in these other ones. Arduino Uno board is used which is an atmega328p microcontroller-based prototyping board. The pins are all connected to their respective devices, also two dc motors are used. A power supply source is also connected which may be a battery. L293D is a speed control pin placed. In this project, the user gives specific voice commands to the robot. At the receiving side, a simple VR module receives the commands and forwards them to the Arduino on the robot. Arduino controls the movements of the robot according to received commands. The robot moves forwards, backward, left and right, and stops according to the voice commands forward, backward, left, right, and stop, respectively. By giving the commands the robot will be in movement, also time delay is given to our requirement

Design and fabrication of ceiling fan

The project runs on the concept that when electric generator rotates at some appropriate speed it produces electricity. So, here we proposed a device that can be assembled to a system which has rotary motion and produces electricity. The idea behind it was to give relief to farmers by using the same rotary motion of the water pump and generate the electricity by using the device and charge the battery so that during the cut-off of electricity we can run the pump using the same electricity. So to show the device will work, here we made the device which is fixed with the fan and due to the rotary motion of the fan, the device generates the electricity and charge the battery and can use that stored electricity again when required. So, this will give little bit relief to the farmers if more research is done on it, but this device can be very useful in homes as it connects to fan it can generate a sufficient amount of electricity on which one can use led light bulbs which will reduce the electricity consumption. This will help in completing the need of electricity of all. The fan rotates at 300 rpm at normal and when we attach our device it rotates at the speed of 275 rpm and simultaneously produces 9.87 volts which can be used to run other appliances which we need to run on electricity.

The relationship between false discharge of gaseous fire suppression systems and airborne dust

Fire suppression system using gases is one of the most advanced fixed automatic fire suppression systems. The most common of fire suppression system using gases are clean agent systems which have clean extinguishing gases that are ineffective on environment, people and equipment. The famous types of clean extinguishing gases are FM 200 or called heptafluoropropane, Other type is NOVEC 1230, It belongs to a family of chemicals called halocarbons, a group which includes fluoroketones. There is another type of gaseous fire suppression system using Carbon dioxide as an extinguishing gas, but it’s not classified as a clean agent. Gaseous fire suppression systems protect vital locations and critical assets. Clean agent systems and carbon dioxide systems are the most common types of gaseous fire suppression systems installed in the Company facilities. In fire case, smoke begins raised up, at least two detectors must sense the smoke to activate the system for extinguishing. In reality, not only smoke of fire can activate the system. In the last four years, only 12% of total times that the gaseous fire suppression systems activated for fire reasons. According to historical investigation reports, false discharges may occur due to many causes, most important of which are environment, human error and system trouble. This research studies these factors and focused on environmental factor that is responsible of around 68% of total activated times of gaseous fire suppression systems and it found associated correlation as well as proposes physical solutions to reduce the probability of false discharges. Linear regression analysis and ANOVA analysis will be applied.
