Strengthening of reinforced concrete beam using glass fiber reinforced polymer

The maintenance, rehabilitation, and upgrading of structural members are perhaps one of the most crucial problems in civil engineering applications. Moreover, a large number of structures constructed in the past using the older design codes in different parts of the world are structurally unsafe according to the new design codes. Since replacement of such deficient elements of structures incurs a huge amount of public money and time, strengthening has become the acceptable way of improving their load carrying capacity and extending their service lives. In the present study, an experimental investigation is carried out on the flexural and shear behavior of RC beams strengthened using continuous GFRP sheets are carried out. Externally reinforced concrete beams with epoxy-bonded GFRP sheets were tested to failure using a symmetrical two-point concentrated static loading system. Two sets of beams were cast for this experimental test program. In SET I three beams weak in flexure were cast, out of which one is controlled beam and other two beams were strengthened using continuous GFRP sheets in flexure. In SET II three beams weak in shear were cast, out of which one is the controlled beam and other two beams were strengthened using continuous GFRP sheets in shear. The strengthening of the beams is done with the varying configuration of GFRP sheets.

Experimental study on material of compound parabolic concentrator to increase efficiency of solar evacuated tube for hard water desalination

The use of solar energy in thermal desalination process is one of the most promising applications of renewable energies. In a solar desalination system, solar energy is utilized for heating salt water and converting it into soft water. A set of the evacuated tube and compound parabolic solar collector mainly get high-temperature performance in the range of 1200˚C-1250˚C. The annual yield is at its maximum when the condensing glass cover inclination is equal to the latitude of the place. The solar desalination system is eco-friendly and popular in rural areas. In the future, there is great scope in research carried out with other developed technologies such as ETC, ETC with heat pipes and multistage solar distillation.

Advance health monitoring system using IoT

Health monitoring and help the patient in the emergency condition is the main objective of this project. The aim of the project is to early inform the abnormal conditions of the body to the doctor and patient. The project mainly based on embedded system and IOT. The proposed system consists of hardware such as controller, temperature sensor, heartbeat sensor, load cell, ultrasonic sensor, LED, Wi-Fi module and LCD. In this project, the different sensor measure the body parameters such as body temperature, heartbeats, weight, height, and the readings are sent to the IoT server over wireless communication (Wi-Fi). If there are any abnormalities in measurement doctor will get alert about them. We can use this project on a daily basis to monitor body condition and help to doctor for monitoring patient remotely.

Climate change and my role in mitigating its effect

Throughout this presentation, I would like to express my opinion on climate change from the view of art and literature. First: definition of Climate Change through different poems composed by different poets. Second: All about how people from the genre of art and literature have told us the beginning of Climate Changes in their works. Continuing with this point ill make an attempt to speak about how do people react to that call, what are the things that are changed in both negative and positive note throughout the world? Third: All about the awareness that was created by the people who were having the mask of art and literature. I will try my best to speak on the level extent that they reached to explain the causes and results on Climate Change. Fourth: I will speak on the imaginative thoughts of art and literature worker. That is how they have depicted the polluted earth or changed Climate. In my conclusion, I will express my thoughts on Climate Change, People’s Attitude and what can be done.

Energy generation from road vehicle

Electricity is the most necessary form of energy. We cannot even imagine our life without electricity. Consumption of electricity is increasing day by day. Nowadays most of the electricity is generated by conventional fossil fuels, eventually, the conventional power sources will get depleted by the next few decades. This paper is about to use nonconventional energy source for power generation. Here we generate energy by air compression. All the setup is placed under speed bumper when vehicle passing from speed bumper it generates electricity. The main benefit of this method is here we use wasted energy for power generation.

Virtual assistant based recommendation system

In the current commercial application, the e-commerce applications give the only recommendation of the particular tastes only when one is interested in a particular item. The recommendation is also very much related to the item the user is interested in. Though this system works well it lacks the personalized experience that the user can get when purchasing an item through an offline vendor. This can be achieved by aggregating the recommendation engine within a virtual assistant. In our proposed system the user will be getting the online e-commerce experience with a personalized buying assistance that one gets while buying through an offline retail vendor.
